Students developed characters to animate running by brainstorming 20 occupations, 20 emotions and 20 hats. Using a 20 sided dice, students rolled three times to determine the mannerisms and traits of their running characters. To develop their backdrops, I ask them a series of questions about an envisioned, imagined or real environment. After they answered these 10 questions, students developed 10 of their own. The answers to these they used as a key to what was occurring. The animations were made primarily in photoshop and imovie by the teacher, although students experimented with clap motion, you user friendly animation device.
